Program Information
Cali was a radiant, vibrant child and young woman who had a passion for life and adventure. She had a beautiful soul and a boundless energy for physical activity, especially anything that involved nature. She enjoyed many happy moments, but also faced many hardships. She struggled with addiction and mental health issues that often contradicted her authentic self. After graduating, she chose to pursue her independence and move away from her family and the support network that encouraged her to stay sober. Unfortunately, her addiction and mental illness became too strong for her to overcome, and she lost her precious life.
Cali’s Gift is a program created by Cali’s family in loving memory of her life and legacy. It is a part of The TEARS Foundation and it offers financial support to parents whose child (ages 13-22) has died due to drug related issues and/or completed suicide. The program helps with funeral expenses and/or grief counseling services. For more information contact the Tears Program Director at our national office 253-200-0944 or calisgift@thetearsfoundation.org.
Program Information
The Charlie & Braden Project is a program established in loving memory of Charlie & Braden Powell, who were part of The TEARS Foundation community and who left us too soon. The TEARS Foundation knows the shock and the grief that come with the sudden and tragic loss of a child and wants to support families who are facing this unbearable situation. The Charlie & Braden Project offers financial assistance for funeral expenses for families whose child (ages 1 year to 12 years old) has passed away unexpectedly due to an accident, homicide or suicide. We hope to ease some of the financial stress and allow families to focus on healing and honoring their child’s life.
We accept applications from families who live, or whose child died, in any of these areas: Alaska, Arizona, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire, New Jersey, North Dakota (Western Region), Texas Hill Country (Bastrop, Bell, Travis and Williamson counties), Washington or Wyoming.
